Why now?

The City of Corona recently completed a Strategic Plan that established priority goals for our City through resident and stakeholder feedback. One of the marquee projects outlined in the plan is to Reimagine the City of Corona’s brand, identity, and story.

Engaging the Community: 2200+ Voices Heard

Corona’s City Seal was first adopted in 1991. Much has changed since that time. This is why we embarked on a rebrand initiative and invited everyone to be a part of it. We couldn’t do it alone and needed as much input and as many perspectives as possible.

We were able to engage with over 2,200 residents of all ages and backgrounds in a variety of environments. We conducted in-person focus groups, workshops, community meetings, one-on-one interviews, pop-up events, and an online digital survey. These conversations were the foundation for the new brand.

Last summer, the City of Corona embarked on a journey to find and express our identity through a new City brand. It took a lot, a lot of effort, a lot of listening, a lot of teamwork, some creative juices, and a little bit of soul-searching.

Councilwoman Jacque Casillas put it like this, “it’s almost like therapy...we need to do some inner work, we need to discuss and find out...how we feel about ourselves, why we feel that way about ourselves and how we can be a better us.”

Because a brand is more than a logo, tagline, and some colors. It’s our story. It’s our heart. It’s the personality of our city. And an honest brand can help unite our community around who we aspire to be.

Beyond a Logo, Embracing our Story

Every element of the new brand–from the visual design to the language we use–is handcrafted from the feedback we gathered and embodies the City of Corona's authentic story. Our rebrand initiative brings to life the Corona's unique identity and voice, giving us a unified vision of who we are as a community.

The crown brings honor and grace to our brand – a nod to Corona's very name and a heartfelt tribute to our breathtaking mountain landscape, standing tall as a symbol of resilience and pride.

The colors celebrate Corona's rich Citrus heritage. The typeface adds a hint of nostalgia that is reminiscent of vintage citrus labels.

When viewed from the side, the' C' elegantly showcases the iconic Grand Blvd, inviting you to stroll through the heart of our city.

A Compelling Identity for Corona

Corona’s City Council officially approved the new brand on May 17th. It represents a significant step forward in crafting an authentic identity for the city, reflecting the collective spirit and aspirations of the community.

A New City Seal

Work on the development of the new City Seal was completed in October 2023. City Council reviewed and approved the design, updating Corona’s Municipal Code. The New City Seal becomes effective on November 17, 2023.
